Get to know me…
Christine Rose Schermerhorn (She/They) is the daughter of a Nigerian immigrant from Lagos and a retired engineer born just before the end of The Second World War. She made her way to New York City after growing up in a very small, census-designated region called Stony Ridge in Northwest Ohio. Her love for entertainment started in the late 1990s when her mother who was pursuing acting in Burbank, California took Christine to set with her. Christine appeared in a commercial with her- and that really got her hooked! From then on, storytelling however possible became a necessary piece of her life.
She became no stranger to television having small roles in TruTV's popular improvisation comedy, Impractical Jokers, Henry Danger on Nickelodeon, and ABC's The Rookie. Later, she recurred in true crime renactment shows Corrupt Crimes and Motive to Murder, seasons 1 and 2 of Puppy Place (Apple TV+), and in the Netflix animated series Dee and Friends in Oz, also being given her own song on the album Believe licensed under Republic Records. She had roles in the straight-to-streaming films Miss Arizona (Peacock)and Divos (Amazon Prime Video). She gained several Sci-Fi credits including guest starring in Star Trek: Prodigy and her antagonist role in Journey to Foundation. Additionally, she starred in Thirsty Suitors from Outerloop Games & Annapurna Interactive which rose to critical acclaim gaining a GLAAD Media Award nomination, a BAFTA nomination, and a Tribeca Film Festival win. She notably starred in Concord from Sony Entertainment. The controversial title was short-lived but stamped her in history as the first black, openly transgender woman to play a cisgender leading role on a AAA game title.
